AED Defibrillator
During the summer months GBCOA provides an AED defibrillator at the community
club and the medical clinic for emergency usage. Once the summer programs have ended
the defibrillators have been relocated and are available for emergency usage during the
off-season.
One defibrillator is located at the Park office (204-754-5040) and the other at
Joe and Susan Prohaska's home at #5-2nd Ave., in Grand Beach (204-792-0992).
Medical emergency situations should always contact 911 first. Please phone either of the two
mentioned locations to ensure that there is someone available to provide you with an
AED defibrillator until emergency personnel arrive to assist you.

October 19, 2020 Provincial Government Announcement on Upgrades
to Grand Beach Provincial Park
Lease fees will increase by 2% in each of the next 3 years until a new lease rate model
can be established. This increase will apply to both cottage lot leases, concession leases,
and campground fees.
Accessibility mats will be placed at the West beach area to provide increased
accessibility to the beach and water.
Improvements to our water treatment plant which are estimated to cost $900,000.00. This
project includes a new building to contain a chlorine contact tank and hydro pneumatic
tank to replace the old water tower. The project also includes a backup generator for
continuous water supply during power outages.
Sewage treatment facility upgrade at an estimated cost of $3,400,000.00. This includes
the disassembly of the existing sewage treatment plant, construct a new sewage lift
station, and force main piping to move the sewage from the west beach area to the new
sewage lagoon on the east side of the Park.
Improvements to the waste transfer station for recycling handling at an estimated cost of
$160,000.00.
Assuming that all of these commitments are fulfilled, we are very pleased that the
Provincial Government has recognized the importance of our Provincial Parks and has
earmarked funds for these projects at Grand Beach Provincial Park.

Update - Grand Beach Annual General Meeting (AGM)
On our last newsletter and Facebook page we had set a tentative date for our annual general meeting
(AGM) for September 20, 2020. At our most recent board meeting, it was decided to delay that meeting
until June 13, 2021. There were a number of considerations which went into that decision but
essentially with COVID-19 restrictions and a shortage of time to reach all our members through an on-
line venue, we felt it best to delay this year’s AGM. The main items which would have been addressed at
this year’s AGM were:
Acceptance of the minutes from the 2019 AGM held in August 2019.
The acceptance of the financial reports for the year 2019.
Voting on new board members.
An update on the Brick fundraising program and any landscaping plans.
Discussion with Park officials on a variety of issues including an update on the new sewage
lagoon, the proposed new pumping station and decommissioning of the old sewage treatment
plant, the condition of the lagoon, etc.
You will be given notice of that next AGM in the spring of 2021 through our web page, our Facebook
page, our calendar, and possibly a notice delivery to each Grand Beach cottage.
Thanks to all cottagers who have continued to support the community club this year. We are humbled
by your generosity and we hope that 2021 sees a return to normal operation of the club.
